Grapes on 8 July, Groß Kirchenried, Breitenbrunn Attila Hegedüs trimming, Riede Untere Breitmoos, Purbach |
Now is the time to lay the basis for a successful grape harvest. The ground was supplied with plenty of moisture in May from the large rainfall. Now many hours of sunshine, which we usually do not lack in our wine area between Lake Neusiedl and the Leitha mountains, are important to ripen the grapes. Before our berries grow to an impressive size in July, the excess grapes are removed. So that the remaining grapes also receive enough sunrays, the leafy canopies are trimmed back. Our staff work hard to remove leaves in the grape areas of our 43 hectares of vineyards. In the height of the summer, we wish for continuous sunshine and evenly distributed showers. Then nothing will prevent an excellent wine harvest. |
