Varietals: Blaufränkisch, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, St.
Laurent
Direction: south-eastern direction 8-12% gradient and a wonderful view
over Lake Neusiedl
Ground: clear, chestnut brown soil with many chalk pebbles and larger
stones. 50cm below ground, chalk bedrocks mixed with sandy loam.
Charteristics: Excellent red wine site particularly for Blaufränkisch
and Merlot Altvierhölzer
Varietals: Zweigelt, Pinot Noir
Direction: South-facing
Ground: Balance of clay, sand and silt. In lower regions, a strong presence of limestone and slate.
Characteristics: wonderful red wine site for wines with a high mineral content. Schanz Varietal: Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc
Directions: South-facing
Ground: clayey silt with gravel particles
Characteristics: good Burgundy site Rosenberg Varietals: Pinot Noir
Direction: south-eastern slope with a view over Lake Neusiedl
Ground: sandy clay with a pebbly underlayer. A few isolated limestones.
Characteristics: a very good Pinot site Hackelsberg Varietals: St Laurent Direction: wind exposed, slightly north-westerly slope Ground: quartz-slate soil Characteristics: cooler site, particularly suitable for early ripening varietals |
