is one of the oldest wine growing areas in the world.
It is made up of about 3500 hectares of vineyards in the foothills of the Leithaberg mountain in Burgenland, 50 km to the southeast of Vienna between Lake Neusiedl and the 400 metre high Leithaberg hills.
The Leithaberg winemakers passionately believe that the taste of their region’s wine is instantly recognisable. The spiciness, fruity freshness and elegance it boasts are due in part to the limestone and slate in the soil. Christof HOEPLER is proud to be one of them.
Ais produced from the Blaufränkisch grape, the top variety of the region. A wine style is being created that is as equally diverse and surprising, delicate and exciting as its unique Leithaberg region.
