Blaufränkisch Kirchberg, 2015

Kirchberg is our signature vineyard, steeped in history and originally planted in 1203 by the Cistercian monks from Burgundy. Here our vines are able to ripen to their perfect balance, touched by our Pannonian climate and basking in the reflection of the beautiful Lake Neusiedl.

Colour: Dark ruby red
Nose: Dark berries with peppery cinnamon spice
Palate: Lightly roasted nougat flavours. This wine is harmonious and will convince lovers of ripe, full bodied, single vineyard wines, with its noble varietal profile and complex structure. 
Food pairing: This is a varietal but will go well with any roast pork, lamb or poultry.

Bottle closure: Screw cap
Optimal drinking temperature: 16-18 °C (60-64 °F)
Grape harvest: October, 6th-9th, 2015, harvested by hand
Bottling: May, 2017
Vinification: 18 months in new French barriques (2/3 in new and 1/3 in used oak)
